Chiropractor Job Description

The Chiropractor Job Description

In addition to performing adjustments, chiropractors treat patients with light, heat, cold, water, exercise, or other forms of physical therapy and rehabilitation. In addition, chiropractors often advise their patients about diet and mental outlook to help promote good health.

Most chiropractors have private practices or share practice ownership with other chiropractors. Some teach chiropractic or do research in hospitals, clinics, health agencies, or private industry. Many chiropractors specialize in areas such as athletic injuries, diseases of children and women, and X-ray diagnoses.

Most chiropractors have the ability to set their own hours and work only when seeing patients. Many hours are spent outside the office though, doing paperwork, marketing the practice, giving lectures on health topics, and attending local events in the community.

Here are some statistics about the average chiropractor from the 11th annual salary and expense survey from ChiroECO.com:

-Sees 143.7 patients per week
-Employs 3.2 individuals in the clinic
-Has a patient visit average of 33.7
-Attracts 6.5 new patients per week
-Sees patients from 31 to 35 hours per week
